Web Site Promotion

At Simply Web Services, we believe that your web site is not doing its job unless it is visited often by your customers. To get customers to visit your web site, we have developed several different ways to help you promote your new web site.

Can you get me listed higher in a search engine?

In the years, we've been working on the web, we've learned how the major search engines work. We will not, however tell you that we can manipulate them to get your site a top spot. If we did, it would be a lie. Any service on the Internet today, telling you that they can give you a top spot on the search engines, is only after your money and not your satisfaction. They may be able to show you 'proven results'. But is it valid and does it actually work?

Not true, I paid several hundred dollars and I got my top spot.

Sure, lets take a look at this a little more in-depth. They did get you a number one spot and that is true. Too bad it is not very practical. Now, most of these organizations that guarantee you a top place, will get you that top place but by using your keywords and your keywords only. But are these the keywords that your potential customers will use to search for you?

Think of it this way: Let's say you are a carpet business and your slogan is 'You can walk on us'. Well, that slogan may be one of your keywords that you want to be seen at the top of the search results. But will a potential customer ever search for that slogan? Probably not. The average user may search for 'new carpet installed' or something with the carpet manufactures name, or with the cities location in the search query. If the user searches using the above you will never be found in their search results.

Ok, so what can you do for me?

So, what can we do for your site? Working with you, we will promote your site in the widest possible way. The first thing we do is start with you. Since you know your business better than anyone, we will ask you to give us keywords and a keyword phrase. When these are typed into a search engine you would like your site to show up on the first page under these words or phrases. We will then help you tailor those words to better rank your site on the search engines. 

Since search engines change, the results can fluctuate so we can check back with the search engines once a month, (for all our clients on a maintenance plan), to monitor where they rank, and re-evaluate if necessary.

I found this place that offers 1000 search engines that I can be placed on for $100.00. Can you beat that?

Well, sort of. It depends on the type of business you're listing. If you're a local business, (i.e. you install carpet), then do you really need or want to be listed in every search engine known to man? Does it matter that you're in Fredericksburg, VA., but you can be found on the Internet in California or China? Ok, enough with the search engines. What else can you do for me?

For starters, we encourage all of our customers to issue a press release to the local newspapers and radio stations announcing your new web site. This also applies to major changes to the web site. History shows that our customers have increased traffic to their web site 5 times the normal in one weekend by placing a newspaper ad or press release. Please note that in this area, the larger newspapers may not run press releases. Stories like that are not always in their interest, even though it may be in yours and your customer's interests.

We also encourage all of our customers to use their new web address on everything that leaves their company. This includes things such as faxes, letters, email, business cards and newspaper advertisements. Basically anything you can think of.

Regardless of what you use, we will submit all sites developed by Simply Web Services LLC.  for dozens of awards each quarter. Awards will allow your company some minor recognition and a chance for another press release. We also have dozens of other proven methods of getting your new web site out to the public.
