The Network at Simply Web Services
How
are you connected to the Internet? How fast are your connections?
We
are connected to the Internet via a multi-layered redundant DS3 and OC3 lines (there is no single point-of-failure)
and multiple backup T-1 lines directly connected to UUNet (MCI/WorldCom)
Internet backbone and Savvis Communications backbone. These connections
are equivalent to 28 T1's (or 45 Mbps). The backup T-1 lines are equivalent
to 1.5 Mbps, which offers a fast backup connection to the Internet if something
happens to our main line. Our connections are over 800 times faster than
the average modem in a home computer. Total burstable bandwidth up to 100 Mbp. Now that's
FAST!!!
What
type of monitoring do you offer for you network?
Our
network is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year,
by a highly trained staff. Technical support is available via email 24
hours a day. Anything else would be unacceptable.
How
can a small company like yours offer such big services at a low price?
That
is very easy, Simply Web Services has teamed up with a professional Network
Operations Center to handle the servers, network equipment and connections.
Not that the staff at Simply Web Services can not handle it, but in order
to provide our customers with the best service for the lowest possible
price, we choose to go this route.
What
else can you tell us about your NOC?
The
NOC (Network Operations Center) is located in a telco-grade facility with
generator backup, a temperature controlled secure environment with full
redundant UPS capability. All equipment is fully tested and configured
for optimal performance as well as daily web server backups and full fire
protection to guard against any data loss. To deliver speed and reliability,
the servers are connected to multiple DS3/OC3 lines from three diverse
Internet backbones to total 135 Megabits of available bandwidth.
